Shah mosque in Isfahan was renamed Imam Mosque Isfahan after the revolution ( Shah means the king in Persian). After the Islamic revolution, the government changed many places in which the word Shah was used.
History of construction of the Imam mosque Isfahan
This building was built by order of Abbas The Great but was completed during the time of his successors. Muslims always pray to the Kaaba in Saudi Arabia, and this direction is called the Qibla. Sheikh Baha’i did the calculation of the direction of the Qibla in this place. He was a prominent scientist as well as a prominent religious figure named Shaykh al-Islam.
This Qibla, which was performed by Sheikh Baha’i with the tools of that time, is only 7 degrees different from the real Qibla.
